Happy Birthday Princess NANA!!!!

Living so far away from your mom and dad, you miss some of the little moments....they just pass us right by and the only way to share in these moments is via phone calls, cards, or emails...and now with our Iphone's we can FaceTime!! Well not this moment....my mom's (aka: Nana's) birthday, this year we were fortunate and thankful that she made the trip up to Wichita to spend her special day with all of us!!  Word's can not describe how excited my little Addie was that her Nana came and even stayed with us. For FIVE days Addie got Nana's attention and love....and at night Nana got to read Addie her bedtime book and snuggle up together for bed! Nana may not have LOVED Addie's wiggly body through out the night....but I know Nana LOVED the parts before and after the wiggling began :) AKA: bedtime stories and Good morning Sunshine Nana!!  We did so many things with Nana....and below I have selected the pictures celebrating the best day....the big PRINCESS party for Nana....as Addie so eloquently choose as Nana's party them :)

Nana (aka:my momma) is taken a pic with one of our family friends, Ryan. In the background you can see my handsome little brother Brendan (in the glasses)!! This started the night off!!

Miss Addison hanging out with Gunner! Who is actually my cousin, and Addison's second Cousin. Addie loved having Gunner to party with for Nana's party

Addie, Grandpa Whitney (my grandpa, Addie's great grandpa), birthday princess, Ryan, and Brendan
Taking a moment to enjoy the beauty of the princess cake with Candles!

I wish I got a picture of us singing happy birthday!! It was pretty cute listening to Addie sing/ slash pray the birthday song! She holds her hands the same way she does when she prays for the song.
Nana.....what was your wish, did it come true! Hope you had a happy birthday!!

Princess Nana with her Belle cake....Addie got to pick out the design for Nana's Cake, she said it was the prettiest cake she ever saw!!

Yep...that's right....Addie is cutting the cake! Nana let Addison go to town on this cake, cutting everyone a piece or should I say a "chunk" of cake. Addison literally cut out the head (Belle's face) for her own piece! Oh my it was funny.

"I LOOVVEEE YOOOUU MAN"

I'm sorry but I just had to add this picture...this is my mom with her baby brother! There's just nothing like the love of your baby brother! Uncle Tim makes no exceptions....he's a pretty awesome Uncle and I know he holds a special place in my mom's heart!! This is a bond like no other!

The beautiful "MARVULOUS" Princess Belle Cake!! She really did do a great job picking out Nana's princess cake!! It was spectacular. The cake flavor was half Chocolate with Chocolate frosting and half Strawberry with Chocolate frosting. Addie tried to get Nana to get all Strawberry, Nana tried to get Addie to get all Chocolate. Both girls had their favorites....we were at a stand still in the cake store!
Nana even said, "but I don't like strawberry" Addie's replied, "well maybe if you try it Nana, that's a good idea" Nana said, "Nooo, please Addie can we have chocolate"Addie finally replied "Well maybe if you do Chocolate and Strawberry, would that be a good idea Nana"
And it was settled. The two had compromised they were both going to get their favorites...and both were very happy that night eating it.....might I add Uncle Brendan was VERY excited too, because he LOVES strawberry!! Brendan claims Addie was looking out for him :)

My beautiful Niece, Ryan, and myself!! Just love this girl she's a breath of fresh air!!

Last but not least...my one and only! Curtis and I snagged a pick...and he smiled! I love his smile...this man makes me so happy, Addie and I love us some Magic Grinch :)

This concludes our Celebrations for Nana! I might add this was not the only celebration!! On Nana's actual birthday I got to go on a girls trip....three generations: My Grandma Whitney, My mom, and myself! We had a day of shopping at our favorite places in Kansas City. We got to meet up with my big brother, Jordan and his two cuties: Kellen and Aiden! We enjoyed lunch at the Cheesecake factory....had a birthday cheesecake and sang to Nana!! Then later that night we met up with Jordan's beautiful wife, Amanda (my sister-in-law) in Lawrence for a little more shopping and dinner at their favorite Restaurant in Lawrence! Kellen and Aiden had balloons for Nana and lovely cards!! It was such a fun day!! Hope we can make this an annual occurrence :)
Nana...we love you and are so blessed and grateful that you are in our lives!! Addie is soo lucky to have you has her Nana...and Curtis and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being an amazing presence in her life and ours!!

Halloween..."Spooky Spooky Spooky!"

So leading up to Halloween...Addie was going around saying "spooky spooky spooky" in her scary voice!! It has pretty cute!  The funniest time she said it was at Gymnastics...Acrobatic Academy had one of their rooms dark, and decorated for halloween, with a maize and halloween music playing! All the kids were crying except Addie....she was running all through the maize saying "spooky spooky spooky!" HAHA...I loved it because I couldn't see her because it was so dark, but I could hear that little voice of hers saying that same thing over and over :) That's Daddy's girl....lovin halloween!
Unfortunately my pics got lost from that day because my phone died :(  However, I do have pics from the rest of our week of Halloween fun! So enjoy!!

Curtis, Addison, and I at our Parish trunk-or-treat! The idea is to line up cars so the trunks are facing the main event....decorate your trunk however you choose...and when it gets dark let the kids trick-or-treat at your trunk!!

Here you can see the kids getting the candy from a bowl coming out of frankenstein's mouth :)

This is our trunk!! YES I made this all by myself!!!! Curtis and I love the movie "Young Frankenstein"...so we decided on a frankenstein them...I made this out of fabric! The eyes are white tulle...so you could see the kiddos coming from the inside and be ready to hand the bowl through the mouth. We played the Halloween station on Sirius radio to have added effect!! It was pretty fun...we took third place and won some moolah :) (out of 26 total trunks)!!

Here is an example of a different trunk....They had a noah's ark theme...pretty cute!!

The next batch of pics are taken on Halloween night!! We had a very special visitor that night....NANA!!!
Miss Addison went as Rapunzel "Happily Ever After" as she calls it!!  For those of you unaware..."Tangled" the movie had a sequel called "Happily Ever After"...and you guessed it, Rapunzel and Flynn Rider get married! So this is THE dress from Disney, veil (BEIYO-is how addison says it) and all!!

Halloween is a busy busy night for us! First stop Great Grandma and Great Grandpa Whitney's house!!  These are my mom's parents...aka..My grandparents!! This is a tradition I have been doing since I was a little girl, and now it's fun to continue it with my daughter :)

We need a pic of the braid...and as addie swings the braid around to the front she proclaims "Rapunzel, Rapunzel let down your hair" It was pretty funny...Kind of had to be there!!

The traditional money bags! That's right you heard me....Grandpa gives out money and some candy on the side :)

Hmmmm....which one is shinest?? I would like to add...mom and Curtis were enjoying some homemade Chili in the Kitchen! I wish I snuck a pic!!

Now, we are off to our neighborhood to do some door to door trick-or-treating!!

she would say Trick-or-treat and thank you at every door!!

These are our sweet neighbors, Lee and Norma!! They always wave, and always stop over to catch up and see how we are....and like why's we do the same to them :)

Here is Barb...giving addie some candy!!

If you look closely...you'll see Nana went up to this door with Addison!!

Below are a few pics we got of Addison and Nana! We got lucky...Nana stayed 5 days at our house in the room in the basement!! I think she loved it..and Addie did too, because she was Nana's snuggle bug every night :)

blowing eachother rainbows and butterflies!! That's right they have magic powers!! :)

I just had to add this one!! I had fun playing/editing this photo :) Stinkin Cute as Addie would say!

Goodnight, Meg

Pumpkin Bumpkins!!

This year was our second annual trip out to Walter's Pumpkin Patch in Burns, KS! Addie LOVES this place! They have soo much fun stuff for the kids to do...from awesome forts in the woods and camp fires, to smores...basically fun galore :)

If you go to Walter's you have to see how tall you grew from last year!! So here is addie this year 2012- just above 3 1/4!

She took a "train" ride! A guy driving an ATV took the kids all over the patch doing circles and donuts! Addie was having fun.

Of course we can't forget to have Addie's face painted!! She couldn't stop looking in the mirror after this was done. Their was this giant red mirror hanging from a tree that she kept going over to so she could look at her blue lips!

We rode the hayrack ride out to the pumpkins...it was amazing to see all the pumpkins. They had at least 5 big fields full of pumpkins....one of the patches was just the white pumpkins and cute little gourds.

Here is the field we decided to jump off to find our pumpkin

Curtis and Addie were liking the greens ones for awhile until Addie found her little pumpkin.

And there it is! She decided on this little guy!

Below are pics of the Boo hill with the tunnel slides!! After climbing up the path on the side of the hill you can choose between two tunnels to go thru! Addie liked this one.

A skirt probably isn't a good idea--- next year I'll have to remember that :)

Here is a side by side of last year and this years pic from Walter's Pumpkin Patch

This is Addie 2011- pretty much 3'                  This is Addie 2012- Well over 3' this year
(If her knees weren't bent)                               (She sure did grow!!)

A little bit of This and That

Lately we have being doing a little bit of this and a little bit of that. Mostly we just hang out doing the regular day to day routine. Most days Addison likes to polish her own nails. The rule is....she is not allowed to paint her nails with out permission, and she has to have adult supervision while doing it. Addie is so funny...because usually she says mom why do you make rules. But when I established this rule, She said "mom how do you know to make rules!"

You can see she takes this very seriously!! I only help if she asks!!

Then there are days when we get to hang with daddy!!

Curtis is a member of the Knights of Columbus. This year he was asked to be in charge of one of our local grocery store locations for the annual tootsie roll donations. He was in charge of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday volunteers. Addie and I signed up to volunteer for one of the shifts. Addison was great she said
"want a tootsie roll" to everyone sometimes on their way in and again on their way out. After 2 1/2 hrs she started to say "wants some money" haha...she definitely got their attention of the people passing by :)

One of the nights Curtis was volunteering for the Knights I took Addison to see Hotel Transylvania.
Addison loved this movie, and so did I! We have been walking around quoting the movie....Addie's favorite part was when Dracula says "that's the most disgusting thing ever" or "I don't say blah blah blah"
Such a fun movie....also ask Addie the name of the movie and she'll say "Hotel Transylbania"
